Digital pension application for Descartes Finance
We built the Descartes pension application, which gives clients a fully digital route into private pension funds, including onboarding, risk assessment and a transparent dashboard for managing their investment.

The project: digital access to private pension funds
Descartes needed a forward-looking application to change how people reach private pension funds. The central challenge was building an end-to-end solution that covers the entire client journey — from the initial risk assessment to transparent management of the investment — fully digitally, securely and in a way people can actually use.
The solution: full-stack engineering for a genuinely usable product
devs group built the whole application as a full-stack solution. Our expertise made a seamless, secure platform possible:
End-to-end digitalisation: we built the digital onboarding, including automated risk assessment and digital signature.
Transparency and management: we created a comprehensive dashboard that lets clients manage their account details, adjust contribution rates, and follow the progress of their investment at any time.
Backend and frontend: we owned the development of both backend and frontend, to guarantee good performance and clean interplay between all the components.
The result: intuitive retirement provision and higher efficiency
With the application we built, Descartes offers its clients a simple, transparent route into private pension funds. The digital solution significantly increases efficiency in onboarding and strengthens client trust through full transparency over their investments.
Frequently asked about this project
What does fully digital pension onboarding mean?
No paper from the first click to the signature: risk assessment, identification and digital signature run in one flow. Someone who wants to open their pension account in the evening does not have to book an appointment for it.
What does the client see after onboarding?
A dashboard with their own investments: account details, contribution rates, progress. Transparency was Descartes’ core requirement, because with pension products trust is built on being able to follow what is happening.
Why does transparency matter so much for pension products?
Because clients hand over money for decades that they will not see again until retirement. Someone who can check at any time where their investment stands and how contributions affect it stays invested; someone left in the dark cancels at the first doubt. The dashboard is therefore not a comfort feature but the core of the product.
Who built the backend and the frontend?
Both came from devs group as a single full-stack engagement. That removes the classic friction between two suppliers and makes clean interplay of API, logic and interface a property of the architecture rather than a hope. Descartes has one point of contact for the whole application, from the database to the pixel.
